Trails - Daisyhill Conservation Park
Daisyhill Conservation Park
The Main entrance is found on Daisy Hill Rd. Right as you enter the forest and can see where the road forks, there's a carpark to the right. A sign saying 'Bicycles Entry Point' is located at the end of the carpark. Daisy Hill Conservation Park is currently being developed under a 'Trail Care' program run in cooperation with the Rangers, GCTA and MTB volunteers. This program, using IMBA guidelines and principles, is constantly upgrading and re-routing trails within the forest to make them environmentally sustainable, yet also challenging for the riders. The whole area has a very good reputation among MTB'ers and is considered as one of the premier areas to ride MTB in Australia. Many of the trails are shown below.
Possum Box
'Possum Box' was built to be enjoyed mostly in one direction from the '5 Ways' where 'Tunnel Of Love' also starts. It can be ridden both directions though and is enjoyable both ways. It consists of a series of berms into the lower reaches and then meanders through the forest past some some nice features like the burn out stump in the pic to the left. Although the berms allow a small amount of speed to be gained, the track predominently is tight and twisty and, although enjoyed by all levels of rider, is a very good trail for beginners.

Nirvana
Nirvana is built in a dense valley and on a sunshine deprived slope that keeps it quite moist in places. The trail contains many great features from rock gardens to switchback turns and large log rollovers. This definitely an intermediate trail which holds some advanced features on it, not suitable to beginners. Good fitness is needed to handle the climbs and still have energy to tackle the more different technical features.

Lubricator
As shown in the first photo, Lubricator is an access track that has become a favourite of more advanced riders due the speeds they can attain as they ride the first section of the trail. Once the trail gets to the bottom, two technical, short descent sections provide a chance for balance skills. many walk these 'drops'. After that it's all up from there to climb back to the main gravel road of the forest in search of the next trail.

Tunnel of love
Tunnel of Love is equally good to ride from either end but slightly more flowing from the 5 Way's end near the start of Possum Box. It used to run down through a sensitive riparian zone but was re-routed and now stays on a very low gradient making it a very good beginners trail with the exception of the rock garden that many riders walk over. Apart from the rock garden, the trail has an armoured corner to stop braking ruts and erosion developing, and several very small log rollovers and even some 'almost' berms.

Koala
After Tunnel of Love (if you start at the 5 Way's) you see another trail starting immediately across the fireroad. This is 'Koala'.
Koala is mostly beginner level, with a few advanced features on it and is enjoyed by most riders of all levels as a smooth rider can get some speed up on this track.

Stonehenge
This trail begins near the Ford Rd entrance and is a very long, very well built, single-track.
It has several man made features of rock and timber and is one of the more flowing and faster trails when ridden from the Ford Rd end.

Turning Japanese
Turning Japanese has had several re-route/extentions but remains a very fast trail with a few nice challenges including the log jump shown at left.
It starts and finishes at the main gravel road which leads to the quarry from the top carpark.

Grass tree
This trail set begins near the Ford Rd entrance and is a combination of tight fireroad and single-track .
Originally this trail followed a rutted path as it zig zagged through a grass tree grove. Under pressure to close it, the rangers and trail builders have re-routed it to avoid the more erosion prone and sensitive areas in the gully it follows and although less grass trees are seen you do still pass through a dense grass tree area on at least one section of the trail.
