castlehill/blackstone hill

Six Mile Ck Environment Park is a Rec Reserve (QNPWS) the rest (White Rock / Spring Mtn) is Ipswich Council

Signs on the Ipswich Council land are old hat. (except for no motorcycles Naughty )

Horses and MTBs are now allowed in the Ipswich Council Land.

Obviously some bigwig in the council is into the horsey set (i need somewhere to ride my horsey daddy) - all the new amenities been built and a new trail cut in to bypass the Rec Reserve, and all done on the quiet.

Some of us where at the original meetings to decide use of the land. The Actual reserve right at the end is off limits to bikes (but it you just ride through the fireroad I am sure no one will care)..

Horses and MTB's were allowed to ride out there with a Group booking permit. At least this is what it was originally. Try to find someone at Council to get a permit of and good luck to you.

At the first meeting that I went to with Oppy, I think me and him were the only MTBs (he went to more meetings after this one) but the Horse riders had a much stronger lobby group, Thus is probably was decided along time ago to build that new area, The coucil does move at such a fast pace. It probably has nothing to do with someone from the Polo set.

Bogwheel, I don't know how long you have been riding out there, but I know most of the people responsible for putting in most of the single tracks we ride out there. If you would like to know PM me.

This thread is getting off topic and away from Castle hill. Rode Castle on Sunday morning, and yet again some of the loops have managed to repair and reappear again. Had a great ride.

castlehill/blackstone hill

there are a few ICC employees that use castle hill frequently including myself. usually head up tues and thurs around 5pm. starting to do night rides now as the light starts to dissapear earlier and earlier. might have to take my whipper snipper up and trim a couple of the runs up. tried the new DH track in the dark for the first time and gave the big jump a miss even though i came away with some good bruises from not seeing a few ruts. bit of fun though.
