I was just trying to organise my mates for this event, and happend to stumble upon this change of date. I clicked on the link from the email I was sent and it stated the planned 28th March date: http://www.twowheelpromotions.com.au/home/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=244&Itemid=0

Upon further investigation, I found this:

2nd MAY

This event was originally scheduled for 28th March but all the prolonged heavy wet weather conditions meant the venue was not suitable to use without destroying the property or trails.

You now have those few extra weeks to train and prepare for the 6hr.

Anyone else doing this? I just signed up for the solo. Does anyone know if it is 7 or 9 km? The webpage says 7 k's in one paragraph, and 9 in another.

Yeah Im doin it solo. Can't wait! Anyone ever ridden the track? Whats the terrain/surface like? Not much climbing I hear... What sort of feats are we all looking at doing (considering 1 lap is 7kms), would it be reasonable to expect around 12-14laps (i.e. approx. 100km) for top 10 placing? Schtanks.

I rode the track last year, 6 hour. Track has changed slightly for this weekend I am told.

From memory, some sandy corners, mainly dust/loose-ish over hardpack. Good circuit and a pretty relaxed atmosphere.

Andrew Bell lapped me a few times and was blistering....made me wanna walk

With this weather should be a great day.

I'm riding in a team of 2 as I was feeling pretty lazy when I put my entry in.

The website says 200m of climbing per lap. As PK mentioned last year there was everyone's favourite sandy corners, with some dusty/loose over hard pack. Not sure how the course has changed for this one, but most of the course is nice and smooth with a few easy rocky sections as well.

300 riders (including teams) with 190 on the track. Should make for an interesting first couple of laps.

Yeah, i was taken out on the 2nd lap by a guy who decided he didnt want to climb anymore and just stopped in the middle of the trail.

Why is it, that your memories of last years track, include less climbing?

After the first lap yesterday I realised how underdone I was in terms of conditioning.

There were a few guys that i think had 'Redback' jerseys which made me look like i had a reverse gear...impressive.

all i have to say is racing on sunday as a solo rider the vibe i got from other riders was everyone was out having a great time, ended up getting 5th which im pretty happy with and stayed out there for the whole 6hr's. hope to see everyone out at the 12hr. cheers guy's

Hey shwaa, congrats on the 5th place, how many laps did u make? There were some real guns there on the day thats for sure.

I ended up with 11 laps solo, not sure how that goes with placings, gotta wait and see the results on the website.. but I didn't expect the terrain to be quite so hard, Im definately gonna train harder before next year!

yer thanks ended up doing 12 laps, so pretty stoked with it all, the track was really good fun, its just too bad that the corners blow out in the first couple of laps. hope to see you out at the next race. take care
