Kobble Creek Video & Question

In a previous post someone suggested Raybird Creek Road as an way to get from Mt Glorious to Kobble Creek
(http://www.mtbdirt.com.au/forum/topic/13297/board/5/page/1#post_237974)

I tried checking it out the other way round with a mate of mine last weekend. There's some videos here too:

It was fun, and I tried a few creek crossings (swimmings) that I should not have.

But there seems to be a problem. We tried following Dales Road in Kobble Creek after Hawkins Road / Drivers Court. That's where google map says it is supposed to be, but we ran into a gate across the road saying private property round about here

I'd really like to know if anyone has tried this road either downhill from Mt Glorious or uphill from Kobble Creek.

BTW Kobble Creek is really picturesque. If I could combine that with a road to Mt Glorious then down Laceys Creek road to Dayboro, it would be perfect Smile

Kobble Creek Video & Question

That is otherwise known as the Lepidozamia Track (the descent part that is). It does go through, it is a gazetted road, you are allowed to go through the land, but stick to the roads. It is also one of the most fun rides in SEQ IMO, but only going down and one of the best brake testing runs you can do IMO. Just did that ride a couple of weeks ago (twice) the creek crossings are awesome with water in them at the moment.

Thankx X.

Do you have a track log of your ride?

Did you make it a loop, or did you just get someone to pick you up at the bottom?

I'm thinking of either combining this one with Goat Track or Laceys Creek Road.

Kobble Creek Video & Question

Climbing the Lepo is a ball breaker. Good ride though and heaps of fun coming down. I'll have a look at my track logs and send it to you if I have one. Let me know when you're doing it too if you want a riding buddy. It's way cool...

Kobble Creek Video & Question

Do it the lazy way now, we cut out 50kms of asphalt by using drivers and shuttling the ride. Rotate the drivers so everyone gets 2 runs over 3 shuttles. Two runs down Lep and the creek crossings will really rattle the body. Have GPS file send your email via PM I'll forward a GPX file to you.

Wingy I'll be in contact with you.thumbsup

I'd like that dude. It's been too long. Training takes up too much time. Lucky you had the GPX because I don't.

Kobble Creek Video & Question

X - getting there is part of the fun for me, so we'll probably just do a clockwise loop via the Goat Track. I'm guessing Lacey's Creek Road would be a pretty tough climb, and the Goat Track is pretty easy.

If we manage this ok, we might try Lacey's Creek Road the week after.

Wrist and shoulder felling better then?

'Shuttles' on Lep is an awesome way to test suspension, pivots, bearings.. and shoulders, elbows, etc etc..

Kobble Creek Video & Question

Thanks for the advice everyone. I've added another forum post about our ride here:
http://www.mtbdirt.com.au/forum/topic/13631/board/20 - with pics, video and track log.

If anyone can tell us where we went wrong getting back onto the bitumen after the National Park, I'd be really grateful
