Very good ride thanks everyone and thanks Zep for organising it. That was 40k of pretty tough riding but a lot of nice tracks along the way. Really good to see Squirrel and LA back in the bush. G'day Winner, it's been a fair while, you should have come with us. icon_smile

Thanks for the ride everyone. Had a great time. K9 showed us a new track up to the base of Camp Mountain to Avoid some bitumen and cars (not to mention a nasty climb).

It was great to be out on the trails again.

See you all next time.

Thanks for the ride today and the painfull lesson in ride prep & nutrition. Been to the health shop and got some good gear to recover and prep for the next time mountain

My wife took me home via Bunnings to get a bag of cement to harden up. Thanks for all those who offered help during the ride.

Too much painting to do! Maybe next Sunday...? You should've backed up for the BSAC! There was only 6 of us!

Sunday morning suffer fest

Sunday the 21st is the Mt Cootha challenge so I'm expecting a small turn out. We have to be finished by 9am to attend a birthday party so this ride needs to be short & hard.

Planning on riding down Linkwood Rd & directly into IronBark. We will then proceed to ride every hill possible in a short period of time with minimal rest stops. It will be an up then down type of ride starting from the beginning then zig zaging up I hate this one, down Ball buster, along the front then up the Beehive track, down sunset, up the Samford range to the top. Cross Bygots Rd & down Mexican then loop around the back & climb the fridge track followed by the nasty tarmac climb on the mailmans track which will again bring us to the top of the range.

From here we will see how the time is going & pursue more hills if needed. We will aim for a three hour ride with little flat ground at all. It will be either up kom or downdh2. Should really suck the big ones thumbsup

Meet - 5:45amon Sunday the 21st of March at the corner of Bunya Road and Jinker Track at the Baseball Field upper car park.

Bring - Mountain bike in good working order, food, water, sunscreen, mobile phone, first aid, etc.

Distance/Ascent - 30km ----- 600-700m of ascent

Depart - 6:00am

If I make it this far I would be keen to tack on a singletrack expedition.

Depending on the turn out for this ride. ie:- difference in pace/ ability, I would like to suggest we ride the hills hard 80-90% & the first riders should return down & ride up with the slower riders. As soon as we hit the top keep pedalling, have no rest & recover on the downs only. crazy
