Sounds good Shan-o. I'm sure a few of the others are doing a few more Kms. Meanwhile I will be trying to eat my own body weight in food at a friends 50th.

We may be joined by a young elite rider tomorrow. He will do the hills 3 times to our 1, which will make for some entertaining riding. Unless I grab on to his jersey then we'll see how he goes towing a 100kg lump up a climb.

Sunday morning suffer fest

Great ride with a few mechanical unfortunately. Lost one of the Fusion guys on BallBuster with a buggered crank arm. Then Catgirl on the same track with a snapped chain followed by a broken chain breaker.

We had a few grazes & my chain attempted to eat my frame & my tyre tried to go flat but, just made it to the front gate almost on the rim.

Tazy Devil had a few lie downs. He didn't have the ability to make the hills so he threw a tantrum & lay on the track to cover his lack of hill climbing skills flipa He only rode half the hills twice which shows how soft he is although he seemed to enjoy his easy day on the bike.

32km from home for us

980m of ascent

avg below 10km/hr. Not sure if that's correct but I suppose we did climb/ walk a little.

I think I will have to try to head over for some of these. I haven't suffered at the hand of Zep for a while. Glad to see you have resurrected these rides Zep. I have always enjoyed them after the event, usually have different thoughts during the ride though.

Thanks for the ride guys. It was great to catch up with some faces I hadn't seen for a long time, and Zep's ride lived up to a suffer fest (for me anyway).

Sunday morning suffer fest

Sunday the 28th March

Starting at the baseball field upper dirt carpark we'll skip through IronBark & pass under Samford Rd to Lanita Road. Then for something completely different there will be 5km of tarmac over some rather interesting undulations.Through the quiet back roads of Ferny Grove/ Upper Kedron. In order, Archadale Rd, McGinn Rd, McAlroy Rd, Cedar Creek Rd, Lochinvar Rd, Sutton Ct which takes us to the base of Camp Mt (short side).

Over the 3 dips & up the longside of Camp Mt (2km climb). Down the tarmac side of Camp Mt & drop into the pond near BellBird Grove (it's a difficult steep descent with loose gravel about 2km long), turn left along the creek track & up a nice little (cough) climb. Over the 3 dips for a second time to the base of Camp Mt short side then up & over descending the long side. Over the 3 dips for a third time & back on a route to be decided on the morning.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________

There is a short cut option after the second pass through the dips where if you know your way home you can avoid the steep Camp Mt climb & return to Bunya. It will cut about 300m of climbing & 5 km off the ride. Otherwise you can wait at this point for about 30min as it is a loop returning to the same point.

________________________________________________________________________________________________

Distance/Ascent - 40km & 1000/1200m of ascent

Depart--6.30am

No offence intended snaffy. I have a mate who will SS everywhere & it's entertaining watching him BUST his AR#SE up 2km climbs while we are spinning away having a grand old time.

This ride is not what I would call SS friendly but you're more than welcome to come & give it a crack. We are a fairly casual group who likes a bit of a laugh. Not at your expense of course.

The first road section has 2kms of hills @ 20% gradients. Should be fun, see you there. thumbsup
