I have been riding in Nerang state forest for over a year on my 6 year old Blur with 100mm travel. I use the fire breaks a little but the bulk of the ride is on the single track that weaves around the forest.
Those of you who ride this area what travel do you have? I am thinking of getting a new bike with maybe 140mm front and back for the descents but know I will pay for it on the ups and there is nothing wrong with my Blur.
Alternatives are the kona abra cadabra but is it 12 kilo of hype ??
Or
I stick a travel adjustable fork on the front of the blur exceeding the max fork length and run at maybe 130mm ?? The importers said I would be fine as they have never had a head tube failure on a Blur and it’s strong enough to take it but they put the limit to segregate the bike in the market from the nomad etc. I don’t do jumps, too old for that but do push the bike and ride the roller coaster.
