Lets go here. http://www.members.optusnet.com.au/hartfoundation/brunswick/Goonengerry.htm (Not my writeup.)

It'd be a 2 hour drive from Brisbane. Leave at 6.30am, on the trails at 9am for an all day blat.

I've been to Nightcap National Park (which is nearby) twice and I've wanted to go here both times but I've run out of time on the days I went.

I haven't been here but a bit of a search about on other forums suggests there are some good trails to be had.

I'll be doing this one sometime soon: http://thenorrisfiles.blogspot.com/2010/08/killarney-kapers-ride.html

Start at Killarney. About 90 mins from Brissie I suppose. Lots of dirt and lots of climbing Smile

Do you have track logs for Goongerry or Nightcap?

The blokes at the Mullumbimby bike shop or Byron would probably know if we hit them up. That's how I found out about Nightcap.

They might even do a shop ride or something. I'll make a call tomorrow.

Neilius, here's a link to the Nightcap ride I went on. It doesn't seem that long but be warned it's got heaps of climbing. Almost 2 Duck Creeks.

I've been out to Goonengerry a few times, from the parts I rode it is nothing like in those pictures. Last time I went there it was over grown, and trails full of leaf litter and sticks, making it difficult it get good pace. Spotted a couple of ancent looking jumps and a roll in. Maybe there is hidden stuff somewhere, but I've never seen this. By the way that write up was done in 2005, so some time ago. Apparently the Mullumbimby bike shop guys want to fix it up to its formor glorly.

Ballina is nice and close but have heard good things about nightcap also. The guys i spoke to in lismore last time i was down therevwere singing the praises of the trails near Ballina. I would think with the countryside around lismore and the uni there there would be loads of singletrack close to Lismore. I'm Keen for anywhere really. Variety is the spice of life and since I am married this only applies to the trails I ride. I don't mind climbing but not for the sake of climbing, only if it is to get to the top os a sweet descent. I'm working tomorrow through to Friday now Sad but would like to tee something up for the 2nd. Pretty flexible on the times.

Don't be too harsh. Too bloody hard to find some of these places if no one pipes up occasionally.

Sorry to hear that you equate stating the obvious with harshness. We certainly are getting softer with time - no doubt.

I do not allude to having any problem with people "piping up occasionally" in my post. I also do not feel the need for some goon squadron approving where I ride or build trails and think I have been pretty clear on that recently enough.

It's hard to think of a way to make my simple point any simpler or clearer, but here goes. If Size10 doesn't want people reading threads about her local trails because she fears the local goon squad forcing her to obey their pitiful BS, she might like to leave the threads about it at the bottom rather than shoving them in people faces, which can ony serve to increase their number of views.

Off the meds again are we MVDF? Calm down and take three deep breaths - there is no conspiracy here - just people trying to protect what we enjoy...

Your implication that I am on medication is a detraction and a lie. By doing this you are a coward and a liar. If you have a point to make, make it without detraction and lies or kindly *** off.

Please provide evidence that I am implying a conspiracy, or retract that BS also.

Sounding like a looney?

(and... encouraging others to continue posting in this thread continually bringing it to the top of the list...)

MVDF

At the cost of moving this thread to the top yet again, let me apologise for having offended you.

My comments were never intended to seriously intimate that you were on medication or that the feds were watching you - I think your posts were doing enough of that on their own (just kiddin’ !).

Rather my comments were made as a light hearted attempt to get you to chill out a bit, since you were sounding rather worked up here...

Clearly that subtlety was lost in the delivery and all I did was offend and/or embarrass you – my bad and therefore in the interests of a harmony I retract the statements and sincerely apologise.

Unfortunately these posts can be read by anyone anywhere, which is what lead me to this forum. You folks around Brisbane are spoilt for choice when it comes to riding spots .Not so just south of the border, the best ones are illegal . Posting details about them on a forum that can be read by anyone is careless at best, maybe the guys dont the situation downhere. If they dont its time they did.

MVDF.......do you still live with your mum?
