A bunch of families are thinking of doing the NZ Alps 2 Ocean ride next year. http://www.alps2ocean.com/
I was wondering if anyone here has done it.
It is a 4-6 day ride on the South island, winding its way from Mt Cook, SW down to the ocean. Very family orientated, so not hard core, probably not even mild core, but rates highly as a good fun family event from what I have read. 306km, mostly downhill, but with some doosie climbs.
There are a number of companies which can assist in organising the ride, and because we will have 10-15 people, I think a tour company would be ideal. I am not thinking guided at this stage just using a company for bike and equipment hire and assisting in the logistics of the ride.
Any thoughts or opinions out there?
