I have setup a new facebook group for you all to use if you wish. We will be closing down the website in the next month as most people have left to social media and it has become to expensive to keep the server up.
I know it's a sad day after 14 years, but things change and we all have to move on.
Thank you for being here and enjoying the community, hope to see many of you over on the group.
Cheers Leanne and Steve
Sad day but totally understandable. Met a lot of great friends here
I don't understand why mtbers left the forum style social media so fast. Other interest groups are still going strong through the use of forums. I find FB has no retained memory/library functionality and is very much an "in the moment, look at me" tool.
I too met a lot of great people and was privileged to be shown many great rides that were local knowledge only. The self entitled mob that smash the trails these days have no idea.
A sad day. Thank you Steve and Leanne.
Very sad to hear.
Facebook is a giant pain in the proverbial. A hodge podge of disparate closed off groups you have to join, subscribe to and monitor by scrolling though loads of rubbish just to see what's going on. No structure to the bloody thing at all. This was one of my favourite forums and it'll be a very sad day when they pull the pin on it.
Sad news. There is a lot of content and interactions here and I'm sure it introduced a lot of people to MTB.
That is sad news guys, but as mentioned understandable.
I want to thank you guys for all this site has given me personally.
This site has been an amazing place to find information and find a large group of like minded, generous people.
I am very sad that it has come to this, I find myself searching through here from time to time, remembering many happy times that just would not have happened without the conduit that MTBDirt was.
Good luck to you guys, and thank you again.
Yes very sad day, it's been a very hard decision. We meet a lot of wonderful people ourselves here.
Keep the rubber side down everyone.
Thanks to all involved. I always reflect on the fact that MTB Dirt was an amazing asset that helped SEQ mountain biking through a difficult transition period from illegal and fringe to legal and mainstream. The outcome would not have been the same without this forum to bring the MTB community together when most needed. We owe you a lot.
Best of luck Steve and Leanne
Popped in after a long time away! Just in time to say thanks for the memories! If it wasnt for this site, I would have led a very different path!
Thanks for a great 14 yrs Steve and Leanne. I remember the Chase rides, Qman reports of the original Bunya Sunday afternoon cruise. Still riding with some of the people I met on this forum. Even Banger. Still wearing the MTBdirt jersey too.
