Was very good to be out on the trails again this morning. No MaxR, he sent his apologies via Gordy.
Jaman (on the cyclocross bike!!), Becca, Gordy, and Christine (Kik!), a visitor from Townsville, & myself set out from the Underwood Rd carpark. About halfway up Possum Box we met Chris coming the other way.
So we had a group of six, as we set off on the usual route towards the top of Wiry Panic.
A steady pace, along trails with the occasional puddle. There is plenty of seepage on the fireroads. The single tracks are in pretty good condition, only a few mud patches in the odd low spot.
At various times Gordy and then Chris left us. And by the time we got back to the five-ways Jaman had a slow leak in the front tyre of the cx bike. It is still amazing to watch him pilot that thing around the singletrack. I followed him down Stonehenge and although he said it was slow, it didn;t seem slow to me. And not a wheel out of place.
So eventually it was just Christine, Becca and me who made it back to Underwood Rd. Thanks all for a good ride!
