WoodyJnr, it wasn't for nothing, you were riding a bike you idiot, that gives him the license to be douch bag and abuse you. Gees some people.groanhihi

Let us know what the result of your "prank" is. I like seeing the looks on drivers faces when you catch up to them and they realise they have nowhere to go.

WoodyJNR / Ky - maybe the tradie was yelling at you guys to go back to bed.. 5.15 is too early to be smashing it up a hill Smile

What happens if cycling is the commuter method for a large proportion of people in your city?

You get traffic lights on the bike path....

I think the location of this 'intersection' is at a busway of some sort. Only buses go by in the distance, no cars or motorbikes. There appear to be a tonne of bikes parked in the fenced area in the background.

what a great day for commuting, nice medium paced ride in with AranaMTBer for Ride to Work celebrations. only one sad ignorant person who displayed their lack of knowledge by claiming we should be riding single file, sadder that they were teaching a learner driver who if they read their book actually knew more than the teacher.

coming home I caught up to Pinkbike who was not riding a pink bike which made it harder to recognise her until I saw her MTBDirt namr plaque that said funnily enough Pinkbike. we had a nice ride home. very pleasant to be able to occasionally just enjoy a social commute instead of head down bat out of hell ride. and not an aggro driver all the way home, very unusual, I could get used to that.

Hey - I like to keep you all on your toes. Funnily enough, when I told a couple of people today that I had a new bike they did ask if it was pink. I had to explain that pink bikes for me are purely an MTB phenomenon. I only do black road bikes at this time!

The new bike in question was my N+1 excursion of the last week. It is a Scott Speedster S20 FB - a flat bar roadie with a triple. I bought it primarily for doing Cycle Queensland style trips (not going on the tandem this year since Turtle and Princess are a bit disinclined I think) and commuting. I have enjoyed the Kona on slicks but have found it a bit heavy, and a bit annoying when I keep running out of gears at the top end. Of course the down side of the new toy is that its idea of a granny is not the same as the Kona's and I can see myself running out of gears at the bottom just now and again!

The only problem is that the stock tyres are too soft and not robust enough. I have had two flats in three rides! And I only picked it up a week ago! Since I got 1000km out of my roadie before its first flats (two in a week from the same spoke) and none since then, it has been a bit of a shock to the system!fright Will be shopping for some alternate more puncture-resistant tyres pronto!

And it certainly was a very pleasant ride home and a nice change from my own company!
