On the ride in this morning went thru a pile of broken glass on the road and footpath - lucky no flat - be careful of the area under the freeway on Stanley St at Woolloongabba people... Smile

Its always there proff, I havent been under that bridge once without there being a significant amount of glass there. I run Slime in my commuter for that bit of road specifically. Its a bit heavy, but better than getting a flat.

All this talk off glass and flats has sprung me into actions..need to go buy up on spare tubes for the commuter. Haven't cracked a flat on the commute yet, but it's a matter of WHEN not IF.

Learnt a new trick last weekend. I'd done a group ride in the early morning rain then we stopped at a cafe. I got freezing cold - started shaking uncontrollably and had to get back on the bike to warm up. As I pedalled through the CBD I passed a bus and felt the warmth from the engine about halfway along its side. Ended up shadowing the bus around the CBD so I could warmup. hihi

A tip I learned from an old skool roadie years ago, was to run the back of your glove over the tyre after you have ridden over some glass, helped to dislodge any shards/fragments from the rubber before they embed themselves deeper with each revolution, but with that pic, me thinks that technique would be next to useless... bigLabigLa

I had a cruisey commute in this morning. My left knee is hurting... quite a bit. boohoo Probably to be due to incorrect cleat or saddle position.I even enjoyed the walk over the 'bridge' on the coro path. No incidents, light headwind, passed someone who then decided to draft behind me.. good on him I say.. I just waved him past when I reached my turn-off.Really hungry right now though... starving!

Had my first ride in about 5 weeks on saturday (and again on sunday), and I have now started communting again. I knew that I had really missed riding over the past few weeks, but man, it felt better than I remembered to be back on the bike.Hopefully my knee will be good to me and I will be able to get into the bush for some fun in the dirt. 2thumbsup
