Upgrades:

27.0 Thompson seatpost to replace the 26.8mm unit which was too narrow for the seat tube and wouldn't stay up without over-tightening which led to repeated failures.
Avid BB7s with 203mm rotors. The stock Tektros weren't actually too bad but these are better.
Surly hubs laced to yellow Velocity Blunts with DT Swiss Alpine III spokes. The rear hub takes a screw on BMX style freewheel rather than the crappy cassette style freehub on the stock hub which would fail with monotonous regularity, as did the spokes.
Update: The Blunts started to show tiny cracks around the spoke holes front and rear so Velocity are upgrading me to Chukkers under warranty. It seems my weight & power and those tough Alpine III spokes were just a little too much for the Blunts.
Recently added a Tora fork with poploc to help make for some softer landings on the waterbars.
