Trails - Landsborough State Forest
Landsborough State Forest
The entrance's we've always used is either by driving into Old Caloundra Rd, or parking in the carpark outside the kids camp 'Camp Koongamon'. A Mixture of eucalypt and small pockets of sub tropical bush. If it's relaxed easy riding with views of the Ewen Maddock dam you like, then ride up to Camp Koongamon and enter the forest near the camp itself.
This is a low impact area, very good for the beginner with mostly easy trails but a couple of nice technical tracks to enjoy. The forest offers a variety of easy trails along the logging roads to some nasty downhill runs off the phone tower hill. Some pockets of quite picturesque bush are nice surprises at times. On the Old Caloundra Rd side can be found some very challenging climbs and downhills. This area offers both steep and flat areas to ride depending your preference. There's not enough trails here to keep the interest for more than a couple of hours of experienced MTB'ers however.
