There are two main ways up to the Camp Mt summit on dirt and both are very challenging climbs.
The shorter ride starts at the top of McLeans Rd and is exactly 1.2 k's long finishing at the picnic grounds. This is an intense and very steep fireroad, that will test the strength of any rider.
The longer way up starts within a few metres from the shorter way but it meanders around the side towards Bellbird Grove before starting a 2 km climb that has a couple of descents before also culminating in a very tough 1 km climb ending at the towers on the bitumen rd going up Camp Mt from Mt Nebo Rd. Like the shorter way, this climb will push most riders very hard indeed.
It's quite common for riders to start as far away as Bunyaville State Forest and ride through back street trails to Samford Forest then up McLeans Rd to Camp Mt and beyond into Brisbane Forest Park (D'Aguilar National Park) for distances of 50 to 100+ kms.
