55km + of trail for fit and able riders. The Cascade Trail starts near to Dead Horse Gap along the Alpine Way about 4.2 km west of Thredbo. The trail begins with a steady climb above Big Boggy Creek which is far more pretty that the same suggests especially with snow thaw contributing to it's flow. It traverses through amazing alpine and sub-alpine terrain through true wilderness making the ride very special in it's own right.
The ride is made up mostly of dirt roads and fire access trails with a 900m final decent to Nine Mile Pinch that's steep and rocky. The ride can be extended by taking the Barry Way back to Jindabyne.
