Location/Trail Head - Outside the front gates of the Refuse/Recycle Plant on The Bucketts Way. The trails are accessed directly across the road.
The Trail - Locals tell us there are over 40 k's of single-track in this forest. The trails are varied as is the terrain. The trails begin in dry forest but you ride through many pockets of mini rainforest/riparian zone environments with mossy logs and loads of creek crossings.
Much of the trail network is on flatish terrain but there are some steep sections and challenging climbs around the back. Most of the trails are purpose built but definitely not what we'd call groomed trails, and therefore erosion, roots and other features can make it quite technical riding.
There is also some nice northshore scattered throughout the trails as well including some big see-saw's and long log rides. Even the jumpers can find stuff to play on here with several gap jumps in place and a couple of trails that feature jump after jump after jump.
The fireroads are clay based so avoid in wet weather as it soon clogs the bike up.
From our experience the trails seem to ride better in an anti-clockwise direction.
